SBI General Health Insurance for Account Holders:
In FY2013-14, SBIG in association with State Bank of India covered about 1.5 crore savings bank account holders with a personal accident insurance cover. SBIG has established its presence in about 14,000 State Bank of India branches. Individual and group health insurance policies are available for SBI account holders.
Adults between 18 to 65 years and children between 3 months to 18 years of age are eligible for the policy. There is a 1-year waiting period for specified diseases. Cashless and reimbursement claims can be made. No pre-policy medical test required up to 65 years for people with no medical history for group mediclaim policy. Pre-existing disease cover begins after a 4-year waiting period. Assured renewal option for health insurance policies offered by SBIG. Insurance coverage ranges from Rs.50,000 to Rs.5 lakh.
