How To Get A Duplicate Aadhaar Card
By following the steps outlined below, you can get a duplicate Aadhaar card if have misplaced your Aadhaar card or if you don’t know your Enrolment ID or Aadhaar number.
- Go to the official UIDAI website by entering the website in your browser
- At the bottom right corner of your screen click on the link that says ‘Aadhaar Services’
- Following this, you will be directed to the Aadhaar Kiosk page
- Among the links at the top of the page, click on the link that says ‘Get Aadhaar’
- A page will pop up where you will be required to fill in information in order to acquire a duplicate Aadhaar Card
- You will be asked to choose the relevant option at the first instance:
- ‘You want to receive your lost – Aadhaar Number (UID) or Enrolment Number (EID)
- Next fill in your relevant personal details:
- Full Name – Enter your full name in the space provided
- Email ID / Mobile Number – Enter your Email ID or Mobile Number (It is necessary to enter the Email ID or the Mobile Number which you had provided at the time of registration. This is necessary in order to receive your lost UID/EID)
- Enter the 4 digit security that is displayed on the screen
- Click on the OTP button
- After this you will receive an OTP (One Time Password) at the Email ID or the mobile number you provided
- Enter the OTP in the space provided
- Click on the ‘Verify OTP’ button
- Your duplicate Aadhaar card will then be downloaded in the form of a PDF document
- You can access the document by entering your Pin Code as the password
- Following this you can take a print out of the document, which will be your e-Aadhaar Card
The e-Aadhaar Card is as valid as the original Aadhaar Card you acquired via post. The Aadhaar Card printout is acceptable as a valid identity proof as well as proof of residence wherever it may be required as identification
