To help users link their Aadhaar with SIM, the government has suggested telecom operators to facilitate request of OTP on mobile phones. The OTP based method is useful to verify mobile phones by visiting the telecom operator\u2019s website or by the visiting nearest store. In both the methods, the subscriber will receive an OTP on the mobile number. Below mentioned are both the methods.<\/p>\n

Online Mode of Aadhaar and Mobile Number Linking by Using OTP<\/h3>\n

Using this method subscribers can complete the linking process sitting at the comforts of home. Given below are the step-by-step procedure of linking.<\/p>\n

Step 1:\u00a0<\/strong>Visit the telecom subscriber\u2019s online portal.<\/p>\n

Step 2:\u00a0<\/strong>You should enter the mobile number that is to be Aadhaar linked.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong>\u00a0The telecom provider will then send an OTP to the mobile number.<\/p>\n

Step 4:<\/strong>\u00a0You should enter the OTP and click on \u201cSubmit\u201d to proceed further.<\/p>\n

Step 5:<\/strong>\u00a0A consent message will be displayed on the screen. Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number carefully that is to be linked.<\/p>\n

Step 6:<\/strong>\u00a0The telecom company then sends a request to UIDAI for OTP generation.<\/p>\n

SMS Based Aadhaar and SIM Card Verification by Using OTP<\/h3>\n

Below mentioned are the steps that will help a subscriber link the Aadhaar<\/a> number to the SIM card by visiting a store and sharing the OTP.<\/p>\n

Agent-Assisted Authentication<\/h2>\n

The agent-assisted authentication method is secure and easy. The telecom operators are strictly instructed on not disclosing the KYC details of a subscriber to any agent. The subscriber\u2019s valuable details are not stored on the agent\u2019s device. This method is also used for SIM-verification and insurance verification.<\/p>\n

Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS)<\/h2>\n

Interactive Voice Response System is basically a specially designed app that is used for Aadhaar verification. It is easy and users can conveniently link their Aadhaar number with mobile using this method.<\/p>\n

Linking Aadhaar to Mobile Number by Using IVR<\/h3>\n

The government of India to help all the telecom subscribers has come up with a single number for linking Aadhaar to SIM using interactive voice response(IVR) services. All the pre-paid, as well as postpaid subscribers, should follow the below mentioned steps to seed Aadhaar with phone number.<\/p>\n

Step 1:\u00a0<\/strong>Dial in the toll-free number 14546 from a mobile phone.<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/strong>\u00a0The IVR (interactive voice response) system will then verify whether you are an Indian citizen or an NRI. If you are an Indian nationality, click on 1.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong>\u00a0The IVR will then ask you to share your\u00a012-digit Aadhaar number.<\/p>\n

Step 4:<\/strong>\u00a0The system will then repeat the last four-digits of the Aadhaar number. Follow it carefully to avoid any errors and press on 1 to confirm.<\/p>\n

Step 5:<\/strong>\u00a0Next, the IVR will ask to share the mobile number. The UIDAI will then send an OTP to the mobile number.<\/p>\n

Step 5:\u00a0<\/strong>A consent message will be played on the IVR that will ask you to allow the telecom operator to use your name, photo and date of birth mentioned on the UIDAI database. Confirm that.<\/p>\n

Step 6:<\/strong>\u00a0Enter the OTP correctly.<\/p>\n

Step 7:<\/strong>\u00a0On entering the OTP, press on 1 to complete the Aadhaar and mobile number re-verification.<\/p>\n

Offline Mode of Aadhaar and Phone Number Linking<\/h3>\n

It is an easy way to link Aadhaar and mobile number. Follow the steps below to link Aadhaar and mobile number.<\/p>\n

Step 1:\u00a0<\/strong>Visit the UIDAI\u2019s website- uidai.gov.in.<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/strong>\u00a0Under \u201cAadhaar Update\u201d column, click on \u201cAddress Update request by post\u201d.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong>\u00a0It gets directed to a new page with the Aadhaar update form.<\/p>\n

Step 4:<\/strong>\u00a0Download the form.<\/p>\n

Step 5:<\/strong>\u00a0Enter all the details like name and address. Providing mobile number is mandatory.<\/p>\n

Step 6:<\/strong>\u00a0Attach the self-attested copies of supporting documents like proof of address.<\/p>\n

Step 7:<\/strong>\u00a0Your biometric verification will be done at the enrollment centre. Upon authentication, you will receive an acknowledgment slip.<\/p>\n

Step 8:<\/strong>\u00a0Once UIDAI verifies the information provided, Aadhaar and SIM gets linked and you will receive a confirmation within 10 working days.<\/p>\n

Documents Required for Aadhaar-Mobile Linking<\/h3>\n

Linking 12 digit unique identification number to mobile number is simple. It requires only few documents that are listed below:<\/p>\n
