EPFO launched a special facility for attaining the online receipt of Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR) since April 2012 where March was paid in April. The employers are simply required to make a registration of their establishments on the portal by creating a unique user ID as well as a secured password in the portal, to avail the facility.<\/p>\n

Advantages of Using The ESEWA Portal for Employers<\/h2>\n

This facility has tremendous potential and the\u00a0EPF e-Sewa<\/b>\u00a0benefits include:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Employers have the option of no paper return that needs preparation and submission to\u00a0EPFO<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. There is no requirement anymore for submitting other returns viz Form 5\/10\/12A,3A and 6A.<\/li>\n
  3. Once the payment is made, the employers will be immediately notified for the confirmation of payment via SMS.<\/li>\n
  4. The\u00a0EPF<\/a>\u00a0contribution would be hence credited to all the member\u2019s account month wise.<\/li>\n
  5. The annual accounts slips are available for viewing for the year 2011 to 2012 online and so on.<\/li>\n
  6. A request can be sent by the employers for the annual slips, through the portal, for availing account slips prior 2011.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    How to Use the ESEWA Facility<\/h2>\n

    Kindly follow the steps enlisted to register and use the\u00a0EPF e-Sewa<\/u>\u00a0facility at your convenience:<\/p>\n

    1. Use the following URL to avail the ESEWA facilty: http:\/\/esewa.epfoservices.in\/<\/li>\n
    2. Register your establishment at EPFO website.<\/li>\n
    3. The portal will provide you with a system generated username and password sent to your mobile, temporarily.<\/li>\n
    4. When you log in for the first time with the given temporary username and password, you need to create a permanent User Id as well as a new password to login and enjoy all the facilities through the ESEWA portal.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Steps to Download E-return Tool<\/h2>\n
        \n
      1. Log in to the website, www.epfindia.com and click on \u2018E-return Tool for Employers\u2019. It is advisable to read the installation instructions, as well.<\/li>\n
      2. For a fresh installation, download the software \u2018A-L\u2019 and for upgrading an older version, download \u2018E&F\u2019.<\/li>\n
      3. Install the software and enter employee details, such as wages and contribution to\u00a0EPF.<\/li>\n
      4. Using the module \u2018Generate Returns for Submission to EPFO\u2019 and \u2018Electronic Challan Cum Return Form (ECR)\u2019, generate the text file for the same.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        How ECR Works<\/h2>\n

        The preconditions for generating the challan are as follows:<\/p>\n
