    • Gazetted officers<\/li>\n
    • Income tax payers<\/li>\n
    • Professional degree holders such as engineers, doctors, etc.<\/li>\n
    • Dependent children and spouse of professional degree holders<\/li>\n
    • People who have passed 10th standard and above<\/li>\n
    • Sea cadets and seamen having CDS who have passed the finals of Nautical Sciences (3 year course) from the institutes mentioned below:\n

      • S. Rehman<\/li>\n
      • S. Chanakya<\/li>\n
      • S. Jawahar<\/li>\n
      • NIPM, Chennai<\/li>\n
      • MTI, Chennai<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • People who hold visas for permanent immigration like visas for the US, the UK and Australia<\/li>\n
      • People holding degree or diploma in Polytechnic<\/li>\n
      • Individuals who hold diploma in nursing under the Indian Nursing Council Act of 1947<\/li>\n
      • People who are above the age of 50 years<\/li>\n
      • Individuals who have spent three years overseas with their spouses<\/li>\n
      • Children below the age of 18 years with one or both parents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Identity Certificate according to Annexure A, or<\/li>\n

          • PI (Prior Intimation) letter according to Annexure N<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • For children of Gazetted Government employees:>\n

            • Birth certificate that has been issued by the Municipal authorities or any other authority that has the authority to issue death and birth certificates, or<\/li>\n
            • Certificate of school leaving \/Certificate of secondary school leaving\/Certificate of last attended institution, or<\/li>\n

            • For spouses of the Gazetted Government employees:\n

              • Joint Affidavit according to Annexure D, or<\/li>\n

        All individuals with matriculation or higher qualifications<\/td>\nPass certificates of matriculation and higher education<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

        1. For 50 year old people:\n

          • Birth certificate that has been issued by the Municipal authorities or any other authority that has the authority to issue death and birth certificates, or<\/li>\n
          • Certificate of school leaving \/ Certificate of secondary school leaving \/ Certificate of last attended institution, or<\/li>\n
          • Affidavit that is sworn in front of the Notary \/ Magistrate stating place and date of birth according to the specimen provided in Annexure A by semi illiterate or illiterate applicants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        All the children up to 18 years of age. In case of re-issue of passport, after they reach the age of 18 years, documents for proving their ECNR category must be submitted, or else ECR seal will be done<\/td>\nCertificate of school leaving \/ Certificate of secondary school leaving \/ Certificate of last attended institution<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        Income Tax Payers in their capacity, their dependent below 18 years of age children and spouses<\/td>\n\n

        1. For income tax payers:\n
        All the professional degree holders, their dependent children and their spouses. Example \u201c Doctors holding Homeopathy, Ayurveda or MBBS degree, engineers, accredited journalists, Chartered Accountants, Lecturers, Scientists, Teachers, Advocates, etc.<\/td>\n\n

        1. Certificate of professional degree<\/li>\n
        2. For spouses of professional degree holders:\n
            \n
          • Photocopy of marriage certificate (attested) issued by the Registrar. Spouse’s name must be endorsed in the passport application for verification, or<\/li>\n
          • Joint Affidavit according to Annexure D<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • For dependent children of the professional degree holders:\n

            • Birth certificate that has been issued by the Municipal authorities or any other authority that has the authority to issue death and birth certificates, or<\/li>\n
            • Certificate of school leaving \/ Certificate of secondary school leaving \/ Certificate of last attended institution<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        All individuals who have stayed overseas for a span of three years or more along with their spouses. The three years can be in parts or in one stretch<\/td>\n\n
          \n
        1. Photocopy of the passport (last two pages and first two pages) including the page with ECR ECNR Passport<\/li>\n
        2. For the spouses:\n
            \n
          • Photocopy of marriage certificate (attested) issued by the Registrar. Spouse’s name must be endorsed in the passport application for verification, or<\/li>\n
          • Joint Affidavit according to Annexure D<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • Applicant must submit a statement with all the details of entry and exit dates along with the passport for verification<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        Seamen who have their CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate), Deck Cadets and Sea Cadets<\/p>\n

        1. Individuals who have passed B.Sc. Nautical Science (3 years course) at T.S. Chanakya, Mumbai<\/li>\n
        2. Individuals who have undergone pre-sea training for three months at training institutes approved by the Government like T.S. Rehman, T.S. Chanakya, MTI, NIPM and T.S. Jawahar, Chennai<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n
        		Continuous Discharge Certificate<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        People with permanent immigration visa. Example \u201c Visas for Australia, the UK and the US<\/td>\nPhotocopy of the immigration visa or Permanent Resident card of nation in which the individual stays at present<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

        How to apply for ECNR status?<\/h2>\n

        The following needs to be submitted to get ECNR status:<\/p>\n

        • Filled\u00a0Form EAP-2<\/strong><\/li>\n
        • A fee of Rs.300 in cash or through Demand Draft.<\/li>\n
        • Original passport<\/li>\n
        • Address proof<\/li>\n
        • 2 attested copies of any of the eligibility criteria mentioned above<\/li>\n
        • 2 copies each of first 4 and last 4 pages of the passport<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
