Rewards Program – SBI IRCTC Platinum Card:

  • SBI card holders can earn rewards points on railway ticket bookings done on irctc.co.in. The user needs to be aged above 18 years and below 60 years while joining this programme. They should also be a registered IRCTC user to avail this benefit.
  • Tickets have to be booked only on IRCTC and the cardholder must be amongst the booked passenger list. SBI awards rewards points on the railway fare of the card holder.
  • Cardholders can earn up to 10% value back as reward points on buying train tickets at irctc.co.in for AC1, AC2, and AC CC categories.
  • SBI credit card holders can get up to 10% value back on AC fares, excluding 3 AC in the form of rewards points. This offer will apply only when the card holder meets the mentioned requirements – a) if the railway tickets are booked on IRCTC using the 11 digit Reward membership number available on the IRCTC SBI Platinum Card. b) The card holder should have activated the IRCTC SBI Platinum Card by spending Rs.500 or more, OR, a payment should have been made to clear outstanding dues within 45 days of card issue.
  • Card holders can earn rewards points only on base fares and not on reservation charges, taxes, superfast charges, etc. SBI will credit accrued rewards points to the customer’s account 5 days after the journey date

Rewards Redemption of SBI IRCTC Platinum Card:

Accrued rewards points can be redeemed by SBI customers using the following process explained below.

  • Login into IRCTC using the registered username and password.
  • Choose the rewards point’s option to pay for your new railway ticket at the payment gateway.
  • The value of 1 Rewards point equals Re.1.
  • Redemptions can be done when a minimum of 500 rewards points have been accrued, through ticket bookings on IRCTC or through non-fuel retail purchases. Customers need to have at least 300 rewards points for subsequent redemptions.
  • The ticket booked with rewards points has to be reserved 5 days before the journey date, with redemption being done for the entire ticket fare and not on individual fares.
  • Rewards redemption can be done only on confirmed or RAC railway tickets booked for 1st Class AC, Executive Chair Car, AC 2 Tier, and AC Chair Car.
  • Accumulated rewards points have a validity of three years and cannot be transferred to any SBI credit card.

Value Back:

  • Get up to 10% value back as rewards points for AC1, CC and AC2 ticket bookings done on irctc.co.in. 3 AC bookings are not eligible for this benefit.
  • Cardholders can earn 1 reward point on every Rs.125 they spend on non-fuel purchases.
  • SBI customers can redeem accrued rewards points for railway tickets on irctc.co.in.

Transaction Charge Waivers:

Cardholders can save 1.8% transaction charges, exclusive of GST and all other charges, when they book railway tickets on irctc.co.in.

Fuel Surcharge waiver:

Eligibility of SBI IRCTC Platinum Card:

Cardholders will be eligible for an IRCTC SBI Platinum Card based on their annual income shown at the time of application. SBI determines the eligibility for a customer only based on the income criteria. The eligibility for procuring an IRCTC SBI Platinum Card is decided based on the applicant’s declared income and employment, among other factors. However, listed below are the age criteria:

For self-employed to 58 years
